Across many traditional cultures, new mothers were never expected to do it all alone.Chinese golden month traditions, Indian postpartum foods, grandmother soups, healing broths, warm meals, rested bodies, aunties and family gathering around the mother — these practices existed for a reason.Modern life has changed.
Many families now live far from parents, relatives, and support systems. So many mothers enter postpartum exhausted, overwhelmed, and undernourished.
